Coda's 2012 model year Coda Sedan is an all-electric five-passenger, mid-sized sedan with a range of 150 miles on a fully charged battery pack.

The company, part of Coda Holdings, also finalized an original equipment manufacturer agreement for the sale and distribution of General Electric's wall-mounted electric vehicle charging stations.

The agreement between Coda and G.E. means that customers can buy their electric vehicle and the equipment to charge said vehicle at the same retail outlets.

Coda purchasers will also be able to easily purchase the G.E. WattStation Wall Mount, which can be easily mounted at convenient locations for quick charging.

"We are excited to be the first car company in the United States to be working with G.E. Energy to support consumers as they enter the EV world," said Phil Murtaugh, chief executive officer of Coda Holdings.

"As one of America's most established, recognized, and respected brands, we're thrilled to be able to support Coda customers with a reliable one-stop G.E. solution as they move into the E.V. market."

Nissan and Coulomb

Meanwhile, Nissan North America, Inc. announced a deal with charging infrastructure and service company Coulomb Technologies to enable drivers of its electric Nissan Leaf to be able to quick-charge their vehicles as needed.

The company will use Coulomb Technologies' ChargePoint Network to provide comprehensive electric vehicle public charging locations. The network is now fully integrated into the Nissan Leaf Web site and will show current and future ChargePoint locations as well as all public charging stations in the United States.

"As public charging becomes more widely available, prospective Nissan Leaf drivers need to know where they can plug in," said Brendan Jones, director for EV marketing and sales strategy at Nissan North America. "With more than 8,000 Nissan Leafs on the U.S. roads, and more every day, charging information is all the more important."

"Nissan North America is the first automaker to seamlessly integrate with ChargePoint Network, the largest network of independently owned charging stations in the world," said Pat Romano, president and chief executive officer at Coulomb.

Coulomb Technologies' ChargePoint Network is said to be capable of connecting EV drivers to charging stations in more than 14 countries. (Katrice R. Jalbuena)
