The devices were strictly programmed so that they recorded a position every four hours. Specifically, two of them, Yalung and Ghangjenjwenga, moved into India\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/list\/1513\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Khangchendzonga National Park<\/a> as if it were a daily part of their lives. For you to have an idea,during their tracking periods, the cats spent 10.3 percent to 34.3 percent of their time outside Nepal!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This idea of cats not following human maps can be illustrated by Rinjan <a href=\"https:\/\/wwf.ca\/stories\/snow-leopards-reveal-mysteries-of-their-life-in-nepal-himalayas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shrestha<\/a> quote: \u201cSnow leopards don\u2019t recognize human maps.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/wwf.ca\/stories\/snow-leopards-reveal-mysteries-of-their-life-in-nepal-himalayas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rinjan Shrestha<\/a>, WWF-Canada\u2019s lead specialist for Asian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecoticias.com\/en\/bolivia-has-just-released-a-rehabilitated-jaguar-into-its-natural-habitat-for-the-first-time-but-yaguaras-story-does-not-end-when-the-cage-is-opened-now-the-toughest-test-begins-deep-in-th\/34527\/\">big cats<\/a>, wrote this after initially participating in the collocation of the GPS collars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why the 97 times figure needs some context<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, how large can a snow leopard&#8217;s territory be? People constantly working on these matters suggest that a tighter method estimates ranges of 102 to 312 square kilometers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But now with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecoticias.com\/en\/a-wolf-tracked-by-gps-did-something-no-one-expected-in-switzerland-it-jumped-into-lake-lucerne-and-its-journey-has-experts-baffled\/30930\/\">GPS collars<\/a>, it could be seen that they can collect data across vastly more extensive territory. But for now, what is definitely something that can be a fact is that the four snow leopards move across Nepal, India, and China.
