California has launched the California Inflation Relief program which seeks to assist those individuals and families who earn low to moderate income by relieving them with $1,200 payment. The California Inflation Relief is to alleviate poverty by giving additional assistance to the low and middle minorities and striking families. The program is refundable tax credits which depend on such considerations as the number of qualifiers in children, filing status, and income.
Are you eligible to receive the $1200 Stimulus Checks? These are requirements
This Stimulus Checks programme is targeted at thousands of families in the state of California, and is not linked to the Tax Relief in early May (this is a confusion many families have and we want to clear up at this point). However, you can apply for both if you are eligible to do so.
To qualify for the $1,200 California Inflation Relief payment in 2024, individuals must meet the following criteria:
- Low-income individuals who are residents of California and being aged 60 years and above or have a disability
- Some of them filed their 2020 taxes with a Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).
It is important to note that the state of California does not grant monthly payments, as do others. In this case, it is a one-off payment of €1200 that is not linked to your level of income, only to your not exceeding the thresholds that you already know, but which we remind you of again:
- $75,000 for individuals filling (as usual).
- $125,000 for married couples filling jointly.
How to apply for this new $1200 Stimulus Checks? That´s how you receive the payment
If you wish to claim the stimulus check, you must verify that their IRS tax information is correct and up to date. Here are the steps to follow:
- Check Eligibility: About the eligibility criteria; make sure that you meet the above highlighted criteria.
- File Your Taxes: If you’re an individual, it means you are advised to file the 2020 tax return using an ITIN so as to be paid.
- Wait for Payment: Reimbursements will be received in June 2024, with further breakdown based on the time submitted tax forms.
- Check Payment Status: The current status of the payment can be viewed at the official CalEITC site.
On the other hand, this help is compatible with the Tax Return of the Stimulus Checks of 2020 and 2021, so you can receive the $930 that you have not collected if you are entitled to it (remember that this week we published an article with all the keys on how to do it and how to know if you are eligible).
