These residents of this state will soon receive a nearly $2,000 check. Stimulus checks and payment programs are available to citizens throughout the country, depending on which state you live in. While there are widespread federal initiatives also available to citizens, specifically aimed at low-income individuals and families, other payment programs within individual states are not just reserved for more economically vulnerable residents but are also available to residents regardless of income brackets.
Payment interventions available to low-income citizens
Most of the federal payment programs that provide stimulus checks to citizens are aimed at individuals with little to no income or resources. These social support initiatives are critical to preventing destitution and poverty and helping economically vulnerable members of society to find employment and stable sources of income while receiving benefits.
One of the most well-known federal payment interventions that sends out benefits to its approximate 40 million beneficiaries every month is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). This program provides benefits to citizens who meet specific income requirements relative to the number of individuals they support in their household in order to assist in paying for groceries.
However, the success of the program lies not in its ability to provide payments to individuals, but is rather in its long-term objective in securing employment for its beneficiaries in order to ensure that they do not remain on the program forever, encouraging self-sufficiency and reliance. To qualify to be on SNAP for longer than three months within three years, if you are an able-bodied individual, there are specific work requirements you must meet. These working requirements are critical to encouraging beneficiaries to become self-reliant, empowering them to find a stable source of income while supporting them through the process. SNAP beneficiaries should take note that from next year, there are changes coming their way regarding which foods they are allowed to purchase on the program.
These residents will receive nearly $2,000 checks in two days
At the state level, if you are a resident of Alaska, you may be receiving nearly $2,000 from the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) in the next two days. This year’s payment amounts to $1,702 for eligible beneficiaries.
The following Alaskan residents will receive their benefits from the state if their application to take part in the program reads as follows, in accordance with the relevant dates:
- 2024 (and prior year) dividend applications that are in “Eligible-Not Paid” status on September 3, 2025, will be distributed on September 11, 2025
The following are additional payment dates on which you may be paid, depending on your application status:

- 2025 (and prior year) dividend applications that are in “Eligible-Not Paid” status on October 13, 2025, will be distributed on October 23, 2025
Who qualifies to receive the payment?
To take part in this annual initiative by Alaska, you need to ensure that you meet the qualifying criteria. However, this critiera is generally quite broad to ensure that as many residents as possible can take part in the program.
Not only do you have to ensure you are a resident of Alaska, but you also need to demonstrate that you have no plans to leave the state, and can only begin to receive benefits from the program if you have lived in the state for at least a year. If, for whatever reason, you are a resident and have had to be out of state for commitments such as serving in the military or attending educational institutions, you must have spent at least 72 continuous hours in the state. Additional parameters are also in place for residents who have a criminal record.
