With O models being in circulation recently, the Vision O concept that is breaking the record, but not the horsepower record. Back in 1998, over 27 years ago, Škoda launched the modern Octavia estate. This was a model that would go on to sell over three million units across four generations since that year. 27 years later, the brand has unveiled the Vision O concept, which is an electric car that has gained notice for breaking record of its own, however, this record is not at all related to speed.
Škoda’s paying tribute to Octavia estate heritage in a new way
Rooted in decades of success, the leadership of Škoda in the European market is undeniable. Having collectively delivered more than 3,6 million units of the modern Octavia Combi and Superb Combi models since 1998, the Octavia estate surpassed 3 million units, making Škoda a leader in Europe’s estate segment. In 1998, the estate tradition started.
Exactly 27 years later, the company has unveiled Vision O, which underscores equity and continuity. Practicality and affordability are yet again at the forefront, but this time, Vision O builds on an electrification legacy, ensuring sustainability and a bolder overall design.
27 years later, an evolving design that is futuristic and forward-looking
It is Škoda’s “Modern Solid” design language that is accurately captured by Vision O, which has nicely translated the customer-centric inside-out philosophy. All of the design aspects are carefully considered so as to optimize efficiency and range.
Vision O has a few aerodynamic enhancements, including a Tech-loop front mask, sculpted side channels, and retractable handles. The brand that acquired leadership in the European combi segment is continuing its legacy as best as possible in the form of Vision O. Customers of Škoda are yet again catered to in terms of practicality, innovation, and versatility.
Considering smart interfaces as well as user-centric experiences
The interior, albeit minimalistic, is very fuctional with a full-width horizon display that spans more than 1,2 meters. Inside, vertical touchscreens and tactile dial controls can be seen. One of the most interesting features is the Laura AI assistant that utilizes voice-activated support for both storytelling and overall navigation.
From the interior of Vision O, it becomes clear that Škoda remains committed to sustainability at every possible turn. The brand, in keeping with the vision of sustainability at every turn, utilized plant-based fabric blends, sustainable textiles, and more thoughtful designs that were all chosen in favor of minimizing waste. Sustainability is also ensured as Škoda seems to be placing all bets on electrification, like other vehicle brands.
Vision O, in a league of its own, breaking records on its own
Vision O may not be breaking horsepower records as other vehicles are, but Vision O is breaking records of a different kind. When it comes to Vision O, all of the expectations have been shattered, but not in terms of its overall performance metrics. It is the interior utility that is allowing Vision O to lead the cargo space. Being 4,850 mm in length, Vision O is much longer than the current Octavia estate and close in size to other such larger models.
On offer from Vision O is:
- A record-breaking 650 litres of boot space with rear seats upright. Vision O is able to surpass the 640 litres of boot space of the Octavia Estate.
- The cargo capacity on offer is more than 1, 7000 litres, all thanks to the fold down rear seats.
Vision O is a leader in its own right, not in terms of performance, but in terms of offering exceptional cargo space. Breaking the record of space and not speed, Vision O lives up to expectations, making the life of the Škoda customer much easier. The Czech car manufacturer, Škoda, is always reimagining their vehicles by keeping sustainability in mind and this brand has made a mythical return, running 100% on a new fuel.
