One EV made its first public appearance on the concept lawn of the 74th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 17 and teased that elegance and innovation can intersect. It was Lucid Motors that revealed a motor that was steadfast in ambition rather than deeply rooted in tradition. Lucid Motors’ Lucid Gravity X is an evolution of the brand’s SUV platform that surely stunned attendees in terms of its appearance as well as its promise of adventure. Bridging the gap between EV luxury and uncompromising off-road readiness, the Lucid Gravity X is promising power, edge, and purpose.

An electric explorer SUV geared to hit the trails

The recently introduced Lucid Gravity Grand Touring has evolved into a concept particularly for electric explorers; however, Lucid’s Gravity X model is reimagining performance and range. Although the Gravity X retains Lucid’s signature aerodynamic silhouette and luxury hints, it is made for off-road trails.
The reengineered chassis comprises a lifted ride height, redesigned front and rear fascias, and a widened track set to optimize approach and departure angles even when on uneven terrain. Gravity X is ready to hit the trails with all-terrain tires and protective skid plates. With 450 miles of range, this is one SUV that stands out in a segment dominated by shorter-range adventure EV vehicles.

An SUV designed to stay true to its Californian roots

The Gravity X establishes its identity as a tough SUV. The vehicle is finished in Astral Drift, which is a specially developed satin paint. Having a darkened Stealth Appearance and vivid orange accents, this model is different in comparison to the standard model. An aesthetically appealing feature surely is the brushed metal finishes on the fascias.
The SUV stands out all the more thanks to the design elements that allow it to stay true to its Californian roots. More so due to the etchings of Big Sur and Death Valley that adorn the sunken area of the hood. The sill plates and rocker trim engraved with the coordinates of Pebble Beach are somewhat reminiscent of one of the world’s most exclusive automotive gatherings.
According to Derek Jenkins, Lucid’s SVP of Design and Brand, the Gravity X is for the adventurer curious to test what innovation and exploration could be like. The power, versatility, and range of the Gravity X make it a vehicle created for the adventurous wanderer.

Pushing the boundaries of what is possible in a quieter way

Gravity X explores the options of producing an EV that can deliver in terms of range and performance, and delivers an EV that is meant to go beyond city streets. Driving into wilder environments, this EV stays true to Lucid’s quiet luxury but focuses on expressing a uniqueness unheard of in the EV world.
The beautiful part is that this off-road vehicle is based on an efficient aerodynamic platform that sends a clear message that capability and sustainability should not be at loggerheads. The boundaries of what EVs can achieve have been pushed, and this message became all too clear at Pebble Beach, where this innovative Gravity X was able to turn heads. Lucid Gravity has made it to the list of cars not to miss in 2025 in the United States, and now we understand why this is the case.

Lucid’s Gravity X concept promises a pure sense of adventure

It is yet to be seen whether this concept can reach production in its exact form; however, Lucid has taken center stage with this concept that reveals that EVs can be fit for dirt and not only to show teeth on the lawn or on the road. Lucid has already shown that the end of hydrogen comes from California with its 1,080 HP in a golden box, and now Lucid is showing that an adventurous EV comes from California, too.
