For this new expansion, $500 checks will be primarily provided to expectant young parents including teenagers living below the poverty line in various communities. The aim is to ensure that the prospective mother and the child to be born are economically secure when she is still pregnant and the first year after giving birth.
The guaranteed income program they are using the concept of a basic income floor that, in the long run, will focus on offering a minimum amount of cash to all low-income individuals in California. The state is gradually broadening the reach from specific eligible groups such as pregnant mothers.

The payments mean that the recipients will receive $500 every month. The money is given through the debit cards which are sent through post to those who qualified to apply for the card. Their payments are made monthly for one year and hence beneficiaries are expected to receive a sum of $6000 for the entire year.
What do you have to do in order to apply for the Advancing Fresno County Guaranteed Income Program? Firstly, you have to file an application, online or in person at:
- Fresno EOC’s Local Conservation Corps (for Fresno residents).
- Senior Center at 16900 5th Street in Huron (for Huron residents).
Then, and due to the huge amount of expected applicants, a lottery system will be used. If you are lucky, you will receive the $500 each month for one year, a total of $6000.
