Vehicle recalls are a standard practice of automobile companies. This is to continue to ensure the safety of drivers and other road users if a problem is specific models on the road has been identified. If you are a Jeep owner, you may want to check your mail to see if you have a recall notification. Jeep has recently issued a vehicle recall for for specific models. This is in response to a headlight problem identified in their models. The recall refers to certain vehicles produced within the last year.

Should I be worried if my vehicle is recalled?

It is important to remember if you are a vehicle owner affected by a recall that it does not mean you necessarily made the wrong choice with regards to your vehicle purchase. Recalls are standard practice amongst automobile companies. Further, mass recalls highlight transparency among companies and their consumers. Additionally, it highlight how automobile manufacturers are constantly monitoring the performance of their cars.

If you receive a notice from your vehicle manufacturer stipulating that your vehicle is part of a widespread recall, it is important that you take your vehicle in as soon as possible to get the identified error attended to. While some vehicle recalls refer to minor production errors, others pose a much bigger safety risk and hazard to other road users.

Jeep recalls nearly 4,000 of their vehicles

The new vehicle recall by Jeep refers to the automobile company’s Wagoneer S Electric SUV. The Wagoneer is Jeep’s first ever global electric SUV. With automobile companies looking towards alternative engine solutions in response to pressing climate concerns, most major automobile companies have added some form of an alternative engine solution to their model lineup, with the most popular being plug-in hybrids.

The recall by Jeep affects 3,919 units which were produced between March 2024 and January 2025. The problem identified refers to the inaccessibility of the vertical headlamp aim adjustment mechanism and the accessibility of the horizontal headlamp aim adjustment mechanism. The problem would have occurred in the production phase of the vehicle assembly.

Jeep vehicle dealers were informed of the recall on March 27. Notification letters to affected vehicle owners will begin to be sent out with immediate effect, with owners being notified that their vehicle has been affected no later than May 9. If your vehicle is one of the affected models, you can take it into your closest dealer to have the problem addressed without any additional cost to you.

Jeep Wagoneer sales dip

According to reports, Jeep’s Wagoneer S Electric SUV has not sold as well as originally anticipated. The company has listed mass discounts for the models, up to $10,500 dollars for 2024 models, as well as the retail cash allowance offering $6,500 for the 2025 model. Last year, Jeep sold 231 Wagoneer S Electric SUVs. Both the 2024 and 2025 model come with a starting price of $65,200 excluding the discounts.

The low sales of the SUV may be due to consumers favoring alternative electric vehicles from other companies. In addition, Jeep is more favored for their off-road vehicles. Because of this, many consumers may not associate the brand with electric vehicle technology, preferring to rather purchase their electric vehicle’s from alternative companies such as from the iconic electric vehicle company Tesla.

As more companies begin to offer alternative engine solutions, a major struggle they will be encountering like Jeep as been is convincing consumers of their electric and battery technology capabilities. Brands which have made a firm identity with the internal combustion engine may struggle to convince consumers to let go of their beloved models which use the internal combustion engine.
