Maserati recalls twenty eight thousand vehicles
The problem which has results in a recall of 27,354 vehicles is linked to a problem with the rear cameras. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, this error increases the risk of a crash. Rear cameras have become a routine safety feature in most vehicles on the road today. The not only assist with reversing and parking, but provide a clear view of what is behind your car, helping you to avoid a potential accident.
The error in the camera is actually not found in the camera itself, but because of interference from the radio. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a software bug in the radio may be interfering with the signal received by the cameras. This is resulting the image on the affected vehicles’ infotainment not displaying the rear images.
The following models have been identified as part of the vehicle recall:
- 2023-2024 Grecale

What to do if your vehicle is affected
According to Maserati, the fix is very easy and straightforward to implement. If your vehicle’s radio is one of the twenty eight thousand which is affecting your rear camera, Maserati plans to perform an over-the-air software update for your vehicle. This is very convenient for vehicle owners, as you will not have to worry about bringing your vehicle in to the dealership. Usually, when vehicles get recalled, you must bring your car in to get it fixed, however, this is not the case for Maserati.
However, if the over-the-air software update fails, unfortunately for these vehicle owners, you will have to bring your vehicle in to the dealership. There, they will reportedly update the software manually by using a USB cable. While this may be an additional stress, it is important that if you are one of the unlucky few who will need to being their car in, that you do it relatively soon. Ensuring safety on the road must always be a priority for drivers, and the software update maintains the integrity of the safety features of your vehicle.
Other vehicles needing software updates
While a large focus in the automobile industry has been on developing alternative engine solutions, like electric and hydrogen vehicles, many consumers forget that the industry has also worked hard to produce technologically savvy vehicles to suit the modern consumer. However, as these technological implementation become more advanced, vehicles are more prone to experience software problems. Maserati previously recalled just under two thousand vehicles in November of 2024 due to other technological difficulties.
Toyota recently recalled 174,00 vehicles due to brake and seatbelt problems. Owners of affected vehicles are to be notified by April, asking them to bring their vehicle into a dealership in order for the relevant problem to be addressed.
Luxury brands are also not exempt from vehicle recalls. Porsche recently recalled 878 vehicles due to a brightness problem on the headlights of their vehicles. The recall affects the iconic 911 model, and affected vehicle owners have been advised to bring in their vehicles as soon as possible in order for the glare error to be addressed.
