René van Gemert •Can anybody enlighten me on the following?: L70 or LM-80 testing. I could not find a straight answer on the Internet. Which of these standards require to do the testing with the LED inside the tube? Which one will give me the expected life span at 70% of initial lumens (I still would prefer LUX)?
Gary Engelhardt •LM-80 deals with lifetime, L70 deals with lumen maintenance, LED tubes are very difficult to get listed, then DLC approved. The DOE is having the tubes independently tested now and has gone back and removed the few that were certified. It really makes no difference, the utility companies know better than to invest in tubes
