In Poland, Vestas has received a firm and unconditional order from Polengeria S.A. for 24 V110-2.0 MW turbines for the Mycielin wind power project located in western part of the country.
The wind turbines are expected to be delivered in the third quarter of 2015 with commissioning expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2015.
“It is an important step towards achieving Polengeria’s goals in wind energy development. We are happy to work with Vestas as a turbine supplier again,” said Michal Kozlowski, vice president of Polengeria S.A.
“It is a real pleasure for us to announce another order in Poland. Polengeria S.A. is a key player in the Polish energy market and a highly valued customer. We are happy to be chosen as the wind turbine supplier and service provider for this wind power plant and to consolidate our market leadership in Poland,” said Klaus Steen Mortensen, president of Vestas Northern Europe.
Meanwhile, Vestas was also able to secure a 29.7 MW order from BayWa r.e. for nine V112-3.3 turbines for the Fraisthrope project located in the province of Bridlington, U.K.
The delivery, installation, and commissioning of the turbines, which are all part of the contract, are expected to occur in the third and fourth quarter of 2015.
“The continued growth and success of our U.K. renewable energy business is a core strategic objective for the BayWa r.e. group. We are extremely pleased to have achieved this milestone with Vestas and look forward to many years of outstanding performance as Fraisthrope,” commented Matthias Taft, chief executive officer of BayWa r.e.
“It is a true pleasure for Vestas that BayWa r.e. will be the first customer to utilize the V112-3.3 MW turbine in the U.K. market. The V112-3.3 MW turbine is a high performance turbine delivering a competitive price per kWh. This is proof that the market and customers are moving towards more efficient turbine types. We consider this as a cornerstone for our future success and commitment to the U.K. wind market. The V112-3.3 MW builds on proven technology to maximize value for our customers through low cost of energy and business case certainty,” explained Mr. Mortensen. – EcoSeed Staff
