A homeowner in Modesto, California was not expecting to open his front door one morning just to find a tiny family on his porch. There he found a pug mother that had been caring for two very young puppies whose black and white coats made them look more like miniature cows than their mom.

The puppies looked nothing like her
Once the dogs settled into their foster home, rescuers named the mother Millie and the two puppy-girls Tillie and Bessie. Their names are kinda similar but the dogs were not similar at all. Her puppies were so different from her that one might say that they weren’t even hers. “Omg, she has 2 little cows,” a representative told The Dodo after first seeing their picture.
Their cow-like coats inspired plenty of curiosity, but the rescuers did not claim to know their exact breed mix or why they look this way. Which probably means they might look a lot like their missing dad.
A devoted mother kept Tillie and Bessie going

The “little cows” nickname made the family irresistible online, but what really mattered to the rescuers was the details around their overheating. Because of how serious the conditions were they did all the possible tests and reported that no additional symptoms were found.
The responsible conclusion is therefore limited but encouraging. All 3 dogs were removed from the hot outdoor setting and placed somewhere they could rest while being monitored.
