With Christmas coming up, many families with children who receive SNAP will be anxious to ensure that they can provide a Christmas celebration for their children.

Last Stimulus Check payments for 2024 to be distributed before Christmas

In addition to SNAP payments, you may also qualify for additional payments from the last few Stimulus Checks to be distributed before the start of the new year. Stimulus Checks are essential for many families who are trying to mitigate the rising cost-of-living and inflation while keeping up with household expenses. This is especially the case of low-income families and families with children.

Last week, Mesa County in Colorado distributed their Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights (TABOR) payments to qualified residents. TABOR refunds excess revenue to the nearly 115,000 registered voters in the area. Last year, Mesa Country collected $11,492,270 million above the TABOR limit. As a result, each registered voter was refunded $100 by December 16.

On December 19, residents of Alaska would have received their Permanent Fund Dividend (PDF) payments. Each year, the PDF allows for residents of Alaska to share in the country’s oil and natural resource revenue. This year, qualified individuals received just over $1,300 in payment. 600,000 residents of Alaska benefitted from the program this year. Some, however, will only receive their payment in January 2025.

Stimulus Checks continue to be essential for millions of Americans

While there has been recent talk about the future of Stimulus Checks, it is important to remember that they are not going anywhere anytime soon and are an essential pillar of the American economy. As the world begins to emerge out of the shadow of COVID-19 and the cost-of-living begins to stabilize, there is hope that next year may see less people needing to claim financial assistance through Stimulus Checks or other government programs like SNAP.
