flavio manzoni is always drawing. a majority of the ferrari design director’s sketches have become definitive supercars like the ‘laferrari’, and the race track centered ‘FXX K’.
the limited-series automobiles have set bench-marks for incorporating innovations that guarantee an uncompromising driving experience and always keep close links to the italian marque’s traditions. this time, he reaches into his curiosity about extra-terrestrials and science fiction to realize a spaceship concept. ‘I tried to imagine something that can fly in the future, since there will be less and less space available on the ground, and I focused on creating a little craft that’s different than my childhood dream,’ said flavio manzoni, as reported formtrend.

manzoni’s work inspirits movies like ‘blade runner’ and ‘2001: a space odyssey’, the classic comic series ‘flash gordon’ and tv shows like ‘ufo’ and ‘space: 1999’. much of the forms also come from influences that date back to ‘70s industrial designers, including joe cesare colombo and pierre paulin. the small spaceship includes a front and rear spoiler recognizable from other road car ferraris. the concept is divided into two hulls, with a lower section of the frame that forms the side radiator openings that flows upwards into the the top section, which includes two wings that flow downwards. the side project could possibly give the world a small glimpse into the direction of ferraris to come.
