CBDE has come to an agreement with Environmental Engineering Group Thailand to construct the solar park which will cost approximately $112,000,000.
The project will take approximately 10 months to install at which point the power produced will go to the Thai Provincial Electricity Authority under the terms of a 25 year power purchase agreement.
The project will be able to produce 86,400 megawatt hours per year or enough to power around 17,280 Thai homes.
CBDE estimates that it will earn pre-tax profit of $6,080,000 from the project’s construction, which is expected to be pre sold to a Singapore-based financial institution.
Thailand is currently seeking to increase their solar power capacity. The country has increased its commitment to solar energy investment by 50 percent, intending to meet 25 percent of their total energy demand with renewables.
Recently, the country saw a 257 MW solar power project from SPCG Public Company Limited and Kyocera Corporation connected to the grid (see related story).
CBDE has had previous experience in Thailand, with the successful development of a $25,000,000 solar farm that they operate in Chonbun province near Pattaya. – EcoSeed Staff
